The Problem
Only 5.5% of Ebenezer’s external hires came through employee referrals – missing out on one of the most effective channels for attracting and retaining clinical talent
In a competitive market, attracting and retaining clinical talent is a top challenge for Ebenezer Senior Living. With only 5.5% of external hires coming through referrals, employees were largely unaware of the referral program and under-engaged. This lack of participation caused the talent acquisition team to miss out on a valuable resource that is proven to enhance both talent attraction and retention.
Solution with Eqo
Ebenezer launched Eqo to provide an engaging referring experience for employees, and to increase employee awareness with targeted SMS referral campaigns
We implemented a text-based employee referral solution that enabled their team to engage the workforce through SMS campaigns. Additionally, we enhanced visibility by placing physical banners and posters throughout their facilities to raise awareness of the referral program.
The Results
In 17 months, Ebenezer accelerated their employee referral rate to 36%: sourcing 901 senior living hires, reducing turnover by 58%, and shortening time-to-fill by 30 Days
Ebenezer’s 901 referral hires through employee referrals included
- 320 Resident Assistants
- 189 Culinary Personnel
- 75 Certified Nurse Assistants
