If you have high-priority job requisitions that need immediate attention, increasing the referral bonus for a limited time can help incentivize referrals and accelerate hiring. Follow the steps below to set up a temporary bonus and then promote to certain a specific employee group that may benefit the most.

Step 1: Set Up the Temporary Bonus

  1. Navigate to "Setup" → "Reward Tiers"
  2. Click "Create New Tier"
  3. Name the Tier (e.g., "Temporary Bonus - $5k ER RN, Dallas")
  4. Define the Reward Parameters:
    • Example: $2,500 after 60 days and $2,500 after 180 days per your policy
    • Assign criteria to match the job (e.g., ER Nurse job code +  Location = Dallas, TX)
    • Ensure all parameters align with the values tagged on the job requisition in your ATS to properly tag the position with the temporary bonus
  5. Set the "Tier Hierarchy"
    • You can typically set hierarchy level 2 (Typically, we mapped your $0 tiers (jobs that are not eligible for bonuses) and ranked them highest, so your $0 tiers at a higher hierarchy rank to prevent overrides)
  6. Toggle on "Fire Tier" and Set the Deadline:
    • Any referrals made before the deadline will qualify for the temporary bonus
    • Once the deadline expires, the tier is archived, and reward amounts revert to default amounts

Step 2: Promote the Temporary Bonus with a Campaign

  1. Navigate to "Campaigns"
  2. Draft promotional message for the temporary bonus
  3. Tag "Related Jobs"
    • Select jobs that now qualify for the temporary bonus
  4. Choose Employee Recipient Filters:
    • Example: ER Nurse job code + Location = Dallas, TX
    • Customize filters to target specific employees, you can get as granula as you'd like depending on who you want your text to reach
  5. Send Campaign!

Step 3: Monitor Performance

  1. After sending the campaign, track employee engagement:
    • Employees who receive the message and refer someone will be linked to the campaign analytics
  2. Navigate to "Pipeline" → Filter by "Campaign" → Select the relevant campaign
  3. View referral details and measure effectiveness in attracting candidates to targeted jobs

Best Practices:

  • Send a reminder text as the deadline for the temporary campaign approaches!
  • Use "Duplicate & prepare draft" under actions in "Campaign History" to duplicate any previously sent campaign to retarget the same employee group with a follow-up message

By following getting comfortable with running this workflow, you can efficiently set up, promote, and track temporary bonuses to drive more referrals for urgent job openings!
